Learn to dance Strictly Solo with our fun and energetic dance classes
Strictly Solo Dance Guide
No partner? No problem! Here at RISE Dance, whether you're a solo dance enthusiast, looking to build your confidence or just simply want to learn some fabulous routines, we have a class that is perfect for you. In Strictly Solo you will learn to dance styles such as Cha-Cha or Waltz and you will discover that dancing solo is a fantastic way to boost your self-esteem and gain a sense of accomplishment by learning a new skill whilst having some good quality me time. Enjoy the freedom of dancing without the need for a partner – it's all about you!
Our classes are fun and inclusive and suitable for those with little or no previous dance experience. Each month we focus on learning a new style of dance and unravel the techniques within a dynamic, exciting routine, whilst dancing to some of your favourite songs! For the first half of the month, we prioritise learning the choreography, before then refining technique and adding a flair of performance and styling later in the month, resulting in a showstopping routine at the end! Our studio is also equipped with glitterballs and professional stage lighting to give you the ultimate Strictly dance experience!
What else do i need to know
Once you’re signed up to a class, what do you need to know to prepare for your first session?
First of all, you'll need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for dancing. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes that fit securely and do not have too much grip. Plimsolls for example are fine to start with. We do not recommend sandals or flip-flops as they can easily fall off when dancing. If you decide further down the line that you would like to invest in some dance shoes a member of our team can advise on that.
There is no need for formal ballroom shoes at the beginner stage.
When attending our dance classes, we encourage you to wear something that makes you feel comfortable and that also enables you to move freely such as sportswear or loose-fitting clothing. Please feel free to bring a water bottle as well to stay hydrated throughout your class.
